Disability Living Allowance

DLA is payable to anyone under the age of 65 with a long-term health problem and who needs help to look after themselves. It is paid in two parts.

DLA is not affected by your work status, savings or other benefits. If the higher rate of allowance is awarded, this can include a blue badge for your vehicle and exemption from road tax.

Depending on the level of benefit awarded, a person who is caring for you may also be able to claim Carers Allowance.
